Springhouse Theatre Company is thrilled to invite you to audition for our upcoming production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, directed by Charlotte Myhre Shealy and featuring the artistic expertise of Music Director Josh Burfiend and Choreographer Miranda Laurent, supported by our dedicated production staff. We are looking for all roles and a choir.

What makes a monster and what makes a man? This is the central theme of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a sweeping, grand-scale musical from Disney Theatrical. Based on the 1996 Disney film and Victor Hugo’s 1831 novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame tells the story of Quasimodo, the hunchbacked bell-ringer of Notre Dame, and his desire to one day be a part of the outside world, and of archdeacon Frollo, Quasimodo’s fanatical and prideful guardian. A tale that pulls you in and asks of us, the viewer, how can we be the good in the world?

HOW TO REGISTER FOR AUDITIONS :

Complete our two-step registration process before the audition dates. Once you have completed both steps you will be officially registered for your audition. Failure to complete both steps may result in your audition slots being released.

Note: Auditions are open to performers age 16 and above, and pre-registration using the provided link is required.

WHEN:

  • Auditions: Sunday, June 14th, from 3:30pm-6:30pm
  • Auditions: Monday, June 15th, from 6:30pm-9:30pm
  • Callbacks: on Tuesday, June 16th (if needed) and Wednesday, June 17th from 6:00-10:00pm.
  • If you are unable to attend any of these audition slots, please reach out to Charlotte at charlotte.shealy@springhousesmyrna.com about submitting a video audition.

RESOURCES:

WHAT TO PREPARE:

  • Please prepare a 1-minute cut of a song in the style of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Bring a backing track for your audition—acapella singing will not be permitted. Tracks may be played from a phone, tablet, or other device; a Bluetooth speaker will be available, but feel free to bring your own. Please do not sing a song from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

AUDITION FORMAT:

  • If you are auditioning for the choir only, you will perform your song and not need to stay for the dance portion of the audition.
  • During your audition time slot, you will present your prepared audition material and you will be taught a dance combination to perform as we are looking for a strong group of experienced dancers to be featured in this production. You will be required to be at your entire time slot so please pick one that works best with your schedule.

ATTIRE:

  • Come dressed to move.

WHAT'S NEXT?

  • Prepare your audition, familiarize yourself with the show, and arrive 20 minutes before your audition slot for check-in, getting settled, and stretching.

CHOIR:

  • You are also welcome to send in a video audition instead of joining us in person. Whatever is easiest for you! However, you will still need to fill out the Audition Form.
